Platinum Pacifica Asia (PPA) has the exclusive licence with Rheinhold & Mahla for Australia/ Zealand and offer a 35 Year Design Life, built with German precision, to any shape including curved walls to match architect plans. One of the PODS unique design aspects is ‘Proprietary Acoustic’ slim line wall panels, fully lined in stainless steel, with an integrated strip drain.
As a best in class marine engineering provider offering vessels that travel thousands of kilometres a year in hostile environments, R&M look far further than construction suppliers for design life.
Taking all stages of a product’s life span from manufacturing efficiency through supply chain management and all the way to the product’s final stage.
R&M consider the maintenance of the product for it’s entire life.
Quality assurance gives the customer progressively justified confidence that their required outcomes will be met
Key features of a Standard PPA POD include:
Rheinhold & Mahla are a global manufacturer and specialist marine sub-contractor who have been in business for 130 years. Most recent projects have included completing the entire fit-out of a 5,000 cabin cruise ship including HVAC, walls , doors furniture, FF&E and bathrooms and contracts with the Australian Navy.
Since the 1970’s R&M have manufactured over 40,000 prefabricated bathrooms as part of their global operations. Together with PPA we are bringing their marine expertise to the building industry with over 750 bathrooms already manufactured in their first 6 months.
The R & M True manufacturing process is a ‘Floor by floor’ manufacturing and delivery process. There are NO minimum quantities per type.
ALL components manufactured in house:
The PPA and R&M partnership uses the most capable design-integrated-delivery-systems available to produce a range of Bathroom PODS designed and manufactured to the highest possible quality and at a scale that delivers at an extremely competitive price.
R&M identified early in the conversion of their marine technology towards the construction industry that ordinary waterproofing membrane products and applications were below their standards. R&M’s solution is to replace those bbbmbranes with stainless steel and deliver bathrooms and wet areas that surpass the local standards and normal life span expectations of customers and end users.
R&M work with PPA to provide testing, compliance and documentation to meet the requirements, project specific or generic, of the local codes and standards. Under the MED regime all products have a 35- year design life and as such are routinely tested for acoustics, fire performance and vibration. Local codes such as the Building Code of Australia (BCA) have specific requirement for certain elements and these are all complied with through alternative solution reporting or testing and certification.
R&M’s fabricated pod core an equivalent if not greater level of waterproofing to that of AS3740-2010 being and entirely stainless steel encased pod designed system.” BCA Logic alternative solution report 2018. Electrical and plumbing codes are compliant through independent testing and certification if not already covered through the Watermark procedures.
R&M Alvedoor work under the Australian compliance Watermark regime to provide fully compliant products ready for installation and commissioning.
All products used in all R&M wet area products are compliant to the standards required for the project location. Watermarking provides certainty on all aspects of Australian and New Zealand codes and compliance.
The entire R&M facility, the design team and management are bound through their marine industry requirements to maintain the highest level of management and quality control under MED. Even when delivering outside of the marine environment the overall organisational control implemented under the MED process increases testing, evidential and compliance routines that surpass those found in the construction industry anywhere in the world by a considerable margin.
Working alongside the highest standard of marine industry quality control procedures under the MED compliance structure, R&M Alvedoor comply to the very highest level of ISO9000 quality control requirements.
The PPA/R&M pods are manufactured efficiently and effectively so that storage time can be minimised depending on the needs of the customer. This reduces risk, cost and time to site. By producing pods floor by floor as they are needed on site we can deliver the first pods to site faster. The lack of batch production reliance also allows more flexibility in shapes and types numbers allowing R&M to replicate your architectural layouts almost exactly – without change.
Shipping product through borders and intermodal locations means that the documentation provided needs to be beyond doubt. R&M’s compliance routines ensure that all documentation, testing and certification requirements for destination import is completed to meet or exceed the standards. This allows R&M’s logistics partners to move product quickly and effectively through ports and handling areas.
R&M and PPA work together from initial design through to final positioning and handover. The principle is that handing over a product for installation to an outside resource after that product was produced under such stringent quality and compliance criteria is considered an incomplete quality process. The teams on site throughout the process the entire chain of logistics – factory to final site position – is directly linked to the successfully delivery of the best quality bathrooms available anywhere in the world.
R&M and PPA’s innovative connection and location procedures allow very fast handover procedures to allow following trades to gain more from prefabricated bathrooms. With an average truck delivery to final fixed in position (FIP) tact time of 45 minutes the majority of site installs exceed contractor expectations and demonstrably contribute to accelerated floor hand over programmes
